Gillian Duffy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Poor Gordon Brown.  He got caught calling Gillian Duffy a bigot when he forgot to take off a microphone as he drove down the road in his fancy limousine.  It was televised live.  And now it&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/election-2010\/7650552\/General-Election-2010-Gillian-Duffy-Gordon-Brown-and-bigotgate-in-full.html\">all over the web<\/a>. You have to feel for the man.  <\/p>\n<p>Or not.  Because it turns out he is incapable of admitting his own mistakes &mdash; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/election-2010\/7645072\/Gordon-Brown-calls-campaigner-bigoted-woman.html\">incapable of apologizing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I apologize if I said anything like that,&#8221;<\/em> he later said.<\/p>\n<p>Excuse me?  You didn&#8217;t say something like that; you said exactly that.  You called her a bigoted woman. <\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Of course I apologize if I said anything offensive.&#8221; <\/em> <\/p>\n<p>If indeed.  If he said anything that might perchance to be offensive, I say.    <\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I would never put myself in a position where I would want to say something like that about a woman I&#8217;ve met.&#8221;<\/em>  <\/p>\n<p>For god&#8217;s sake, man, you were caught on tape.  You&#8217;ve heard it yourself.  Just fess up and apologize!<\/p>\n<p>But you see, he can&#8217;t.  He&#8217;s a politician.  They don&#8217;t know how.
