When I say <em>yes, Yes, YES!<\/em>, I am not only saying\u00a0<em>yes<\/em>\u00a0but<em>\u00a0yes!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>That much perhaps is obvious. But you should also know this. It is an allusion to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Perry_Mason_%28TV_series%29\">Perry Mason<\/a>, to the climax endings in which Raymond Burr stood in the courtroom questioning a witness, trapping a witness, tricking a witness until they finally admitted the truth.<\/p>\n<p>So when I\u00a0say, <em>yes, Yes, YES!<\/em>, I am answering your question emphatically in the positive.<\/p>\n<p>But for what it\u2019s worth, there\u2019s also this.<\/p>\n<p>The reason I talk this way is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Perry_Mason_%28TV_series%29\">Perry Mason<\/a> reruns from a long time ago. We watched them in black and white on Armed Forced TV in 1968 and 1969 along with those of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Twelve_O%27Clock_High_%28series%29\">Twelve O\u2019Clock High<\/a> (where I must have come across Bruce Dern for the first time), <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Combat!\">Combat!<\/a> (which had an episode that was so horrifying that I vowed to forget it and hence never did), <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bonanza\">Bonanza<\/a> (whence the role of Lorne Greene as Adama in Battlestar Gallactica was so easy to believe) and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Big_Valley\">The Big Valley<\/a> (from which the voice and eyes and fortitude of Barbara Stanwick).<\/p>\n<p>I could sing you the theme songs to them all. Ask me some time. The sound of each of them comes with a slight feeling of regret, because when the shows were over, it was bedtime.
