It took us thru small towns with old buildings: Wellington, Bloomfield, Picton.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nLake Ontario was just beyond the produce stand by the side of the road, where we bought corn, carrots, peaches and two whole pies (apple and strawberry-rhubarb).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-n9cnjpT\/0\/O\/lake_ontario3.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 2px grey solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-n9cnjpT\/0\/M\/lake_ontario3-M.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"A photo of Lake Ontario just beyond the produce stand.\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAnd it was also just beyond the end of the streets in Wellingon.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-LX7WZBn\/0\/X3\/lake_at_streets_end3-X3.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 2px grey solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-LX7WZBn\/0\/M\/lake_at_streets_end3-M.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"A photo of Lake Ontario just beyond the end of a street in Wellington.\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nSlicker&#8217;s ice cream shop sold hand-made, hand-packed ice cream made from now-in-season blackberries, and the girl behind the counter probably thought us crazy tourists for the size of the tip we left.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-P6CMZVJ\/0\/X3\/slickers2-X3.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 2px grey solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-P6CMZVJ\/0\/S\/slickers2-S.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"A photo of Trudy enjoying blackberry ice cream outside Slickers.\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nIt was <em>rush hour<\/em> in Picton just as we rolled into town.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-7bzZbvD\/0\/O\/picton_rush_hour3-1024x694.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 2px grey solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-7bzZbvD\/0\/S\/picton_rush_hour3-1024x694-S.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"A photo of the traffic we encountered in Picton just as we went thru town.\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWe saw horses and barns and Canadian flags flapping in the breeze.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-StTLXHv\/0\/X3\/horse_farm3-X3.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 2px grey solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Blogpix\/2010\/07\/i-StTLXHv\/0\/S\/horse_farm3-S.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"A photo of a horse ranch, barns and four flying Canadian flags.\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAnd we saw Union Jacks.
