{"id":67,"date":"2010-02-10T16:47:24","date_gmt":"2010-02-10T22:47:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/~david\/blogs\/jumpingfish\/?p=67"},"modified":"2010-04-07T20:39:25","modified_gmt":"2010-04-08T02:39:25","slug":"meatball","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/augerhandle.net\/blogs\/jumpingfish\/2010\/02\/10\/meatball\/","title":{"rendered":"Meatball"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wore a NASA sweatshirt going out to dinner the other night.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve become quite a wimp for cold weather, and the night was nippy, and the sweatshirt was swinging there on a hanger before me as I pondered my stay-warm options &mdash; a plain grey pull-over sweatshirt with a NASA meatball emblazoned on the front:<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/augerhandle.net\/blogs\/jumpingfish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/nasa_meatball.gif\" alt=\"nasa_meatball.gif\" border=\"0\" width=\"150\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<p>Geeky perhaps, but I grabbed it from the hanger, because it was there and because it was cold outside and because, I suppose, I wanted to make <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/02\/02\/science\/02nasa.html\">a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So I pulled the sweatshirt over my head and put on my coat, leaving it unbuttoned.  And I went to dinner with that not-so-subtle statement blazoned to my chest for all to see.<\/p>\n<p>I doubt anyone got it.  If they noticed anything, it was probably just that geeky guy at the table over there with the big NASA meatball splayed all over his frontside.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wore a NASA sweatshirt going out to dinner the other night.
