Three young people were walking away from the house next door. A few minutes later, the doorbell rang. There they were, all three of them, standing in the blazing afternoon sun. It was oppressively hot.<\/p>\n<p>As it turned out, they were selling AT&amp;T cell phone plans. Now, this is not the house to come to if you want to sell something with the AT&amp;T brand on it. But, they also asked for water.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They asked for water!?&rdquo; I said as Trudy walked into the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They did,&rdquo; she said, as she opened the refrigerator.<\/p>\n<p>We don&rsquo;t have bottled water. There was nothing to give them (having given our last Gatorade to the guy who painted our address on the curb a few oppressively hot afternoons ago). I went to the door.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Come in, you guys. It&rsquo;s hot out there.&rdquo; I held the door open and waved my hand.<\/p>\n<p>They were politely reluctant, but we insisted. One of them had a bottle of Gatorade, but the other two looked thirsty and seemed grateful when we wouldn&rsquo;t take no for an answer.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Come in. We&rsquo;ll get you some ice water,&rdquo; I insisted.<\/p>\n<p>As they slowly stepped into the living room, Izzy barked a single bark and wagged her hind end. All three of them reached down to say hi to her. Trudy went to pour some water over ice. I closed the front door to keep the heat at bay.<\/p>\n<p>As I turned around, one of them pointed to the shelves on her left and then to the shelves across the room.<\/p>\n<p><em>&ldquo;Look!
